The history of Vista
Vista Community Support was formed by the EW Tipping Foundation in 2005 and was originally known as Victorian Person Centred Services. We recently changed our name to "Vista".
The Foundation is named after the late EW (Bill) Tipping, and was formed in 1970.
Bill was a journalist for the Melbourne Herald who wrote passionately about people with disabilities and other social
issues.
Just before Bill passed away from serious illness, there was a large public meeting in Melbourne to form the EW Tipping Foundation in his name.
Originally, the Foundation concentrated on group homes for people with disabilities. More recently, it has expanded into respite, advocacy, community development and other areas where there is need.
Vista was formed to concentrate on providing one-on-one services to people needing individualised support.
Vista enjoys the support of many thousands of people across Victoria.
